Birth&Death
The exhibition 29–30–31 brings together for the first time, long time collaborators Werner Baldauf and Sappy Rauth with australian artist and curator Benjamin Webb. Now based in Vienna, Benjamin Webb has established a career in Melbourne, Australia exhibiting extensively for over 8 years but also as curator and committee member of the artist run initiative; Brunswick Arts Space. 

The exhibition at GG68 is presented by Vote young and contemporary ceramic studio that wishes to offer to you a fresh and contemporary look at ceramic art in Vienna. These three artists not only share an interest in ceramics but they also share a common interest in death.

As soon as we are born we are capable of dying and the ever-present consequence of mortality looms over our everyday lives. However, death has become more and more invisible to us. We now increasingly live longer; we die isolated from our homes in hospitals and our ritual of death seams largely a source of exploitation by large corporate funeral companies. But still; death is grief, death is horror, death is acceptance, death memorial and in the show 29-30-31, death is art.

Somewhat ironically the show coincides with the 30^th birthday of Werner Baldauf so please help us celebrate and join us for the vernissage at 7pm on the 19^th of October 2012.
